Сполучені Штати закликають білоруську владу не перешкоджати мирним зібранням та не застосовувати насильство проти протестувальників. Про це заявила речниця Білого дому Кейлі МаКенані 10 серпня.
«Суворі обмеження доступу кандидатів до виборів, заборона присутності незалежних місцевих спостерігачів, залякування кандидатів від опозиції та затримання мирних демонстрантів та журналістів спотворили процес. Ми закликаємо білоруський уряд поважати право на мирні зібрання та утриматися від застосування сили», – заявила МакЕнані.
Державний секретар США Майк Помпео у своїй заяві назвав вибори президента Білорусі такими, що «не були вільними і чесними».

«Як друзі Білорусі, ми підтримуємо білоруську незалежність та суверенітет, а також прагнення білоруського народу до демократичного і процвітаючого майбутнього. Щоб досягнути цієї мети, уряд Білорусі повинен довести діями свою відданість демократичному процесу та повазі до прав людини», – йдеться в заяві голови Державного департаменту США.
Свою заяву озвучив також речник генерального секретаря Організації об’єднаних націй Антоніу Ґутерріша Стефан Дюжаррік. За його словами, генеральний секретар «із занепокоєнням» стежить за ситуацією в Білорусі. Водночас заява Ґутерріша адресована «всім сторонам» подій.

«Генеральний секретар закликає білоруську владу проявити максимальну стриманість та забезпечити повну повагу до права на свободу висловлення поглядів, мирних зібрань і асоціацій. Результати виборів викликали ввечері 9 серпня протести в білоруських містах. Навіть за офіційними даними Міністерства внутрішніх справ країни, такі протести відбулися в 33 містах, було затримано близько 3 тисяч осіб, із них близько 1 тисячі в столиці Мінську. У сутичках є потерпілі; МВС заявляє про більш ніж 50 потерпілих громадян і 39 міліціонерів 9 серпня. Правозахисники заявляли про загибель одного демонстранта, в МВС це заперечують.

Antonio Banderas says he’s tested positive for COVID-19 and is celebrating his 60th birthday in quarantine. The Spanish actor announced his positive test Monday in a post on Instagram. Banderas said he would spend his time in isolation reading, writing and “making plans to begin to give meaning to my 60th year to which I arrive full of enthusiasm.” “I would like to add that I am relatively well, just a little more tired than usual and hoping to recover as soon as possible following medical instructions that I hope will allow me to overcome the infection that I and so many people in the world are suffering from,” Banderas wrote. A spokesperson for Banderas didn’t immediately respond to messages Monday. Earlier this year, Banderas was nominated for the Academy Award for best actor for his performance in Pedro Almodóvar’s Pain & Glory.

Чехія дотримується заборони на постачання світлошумових гранат до Білорусі, написав у своєму твітері міністр закордонних справ Томаш Петршічек. Таким чином він відповів на питання щодо ймовірного застосування проти протестувальників у Білорусі гранат чеського виробництва.
«Я не знаю, чи ці кадри справжні. Чехія дотримується ембарго на постачання таких матеріалів до Білорусі. Вже 10 років. Свою роль у цьому могли зіграти або перекупники, або йдеться про матеріали з раніших часів», – написав Петршічек у відповіді одному з дописувачів.
У соцмережах та медіа з’явилися світлини, зроблені в Мінську під час розгону мирних протестів 9 серпня. На них видно рік виробництва світлошумових гранат – 2012. Ембарго на постачання зброї до Білорусі Євросоюз запровадив у 2011 році.
Чеська компанія з виробництва таких гранат Zeveta Ammunition на запит білоруської служби Радіо Свобода відповіла, що ніколи не експортувала військові гранати до Білорусі.
«Ми також заперечуємо, що на фото – наша продукція зображена. На фотографії – очевидна чужа наліпка на виробі невідомого походження. Тому ми відкидаємо припущення про походження речі на цій фотографії та про можливу причетність до поширення чи створення гібридних загроз та дезінформації», – йдеться у відповіді компанії.

Секретар Ради національної безпеки і оборони Олексій Данілов заявив, що режим припинення вогню на Донбасі дотримується вже протягом двох тижнів, – попри щоденні повідомлення пресцентру штабу операції Об’єднаних сил про порушення цього режиму російськими гібридними силами.
«За даними Головного ситуаційного центру при Раді національної безпеки і оборони України, режим припинення вогню на Донбасі з півночі 27 липня 2020 року виконується, а поодинокі випадки його порушення не мають системного характеру. На відміну від багатьох раніше оголошених припинень вогню, які налічували декілька днів, сьогодні триває вже п’ятнадцятий день перемир’я без пострілів з важкого озброєння і бойових втрат», – наводить його слова сайт РНБО.
«Сподівання, що досягнуті Тристоронньою контактною групою домовленості й надалі будуть виконуватися, підкріплюються щоденними даними», – також заявив Данілов.
Від часу набуття чинності домовленістю про нинішнє перемир’я, чергове «повне і всеосяжне», з 00.01 27 липня пресцентр штабу ООС щодня подає дані про все нові обстріли й інші порушення цього режиму припинення вогню з боку російських гібридних сил. При цьому в деяких повідомленнях ідеться прямо про «порушення режиму припинення вогню», в інших висловлюються обтічно про «порушення домовленостей, які були досягнуті за підсумками Тристоронньої контактної групи», і про «ворожі вогневі провокації» – на які, за цими повідомленнями, українські військові не відповідали, бо ті «провокації» «не несли загрози життю та здоров’ю» українських військовослужбовців. Також стверджується, що підрозділи ООС «перебувають напоготові до адекватного реагування на ймовірні підступні дії противника».
Крім того, військові повідомляють, що внаслідок згаданих порушень «серед особового складу Об’єднаних сил бойових втрат та поранень немає», – хоча за час дії нинішнього перемир’я повідомляли про загибель кількох військовослужбовців – офіційно з інших, небойових причин.

Greece on Monday accused Turkey of “threatening peace” in the eastern Mediterranean and called a military meeting after Ankara resumed oil and gas exploration near a Greek island.
The Greek foreign ministry said that Turkey’s decision to deploy seismic research ship Oruc Reis constituted a “new serious escalation” and “exposed” Turkey’s “destabilizing role”.
Energy exploration in the gas-rich eastern Mediterranean is a frequent source of tension between Turkey and a bloc of neighbors including Greece, Cyprus, and Israel.
The Greek ministry said Athens “will not accept any blackmail” and “will defend its sovereignty and its sovereign rights.”.
The announcement came after Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis conferred with military chiefs and his foreign minister.
Mitsotakis’ office said the prime minister had spoken to EU Council President Charles Michel on the issue, and would later speak to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
A senior Greek minister added that navy ships were monitoring the Turkish seismic research ship.
“We are in complete political and operational readiness,” Minister of State George Gerapetritis said on state TV ERT.
“Most of the fleet is ready to be deployed wherever necessary,” he said.
Turkish Energy Minister Fatih Donmez had earlier tweeted that the Oruc Reis had “reached the destination where work would be undertaken”, near the island of Kastellorizo.
Turkey sent out a message on NAVTEX, the international maritime navigational telex system, announcing the vessel would be carrying out activities off the island of Kastellorizo between August 10 and 23.
The move came just days after the NATO allies seemed close to talks over disputed maritime zones in the Aegean.
Turkey had called off an earlier search by the Oruc Reis last month to hold negotiations with Greece and Germany, which holds the rotating EU presidency.
But the mood soured last week after Greece and Egypt signed an agreement to set up an exclusive economic zone in the region.
The Turkish foreign ministry said the “so-called maritime deal” was “null and void”.
Egypt, Cyprus and Greece have likewise denounced a contentious deal, including a security agreement, signed last year between Ankara and UN-recognized government in Libya.
Greece, Cyprus and Israel in January signed an agreement for a huge pipeline project to transport gas from the eastern Mediterranean to Europe despite Turkey’s hostility to the deal.

Білорусь повинна дотримуватися загальновизнаних демократичних стандартів, заявив президент України Володимир Зеленський.
«Білорусь у своїх діях повинна максимально дотримуватися загальновизнаних у цивілізованому світі демократичних стандартів. І постаратися забезпечити власному народу його права та свободи у повному обсязі. Тільки так можна зберегти надію на вихід з кризи», – вважає Зеленський.
За його словами, білоруси проживають зараз непрості часи.
«Вони намагаються визначити вектор свого подальшого розвитку. І це дуже непросто. Вже очевидно, що далеко не всі в країні згодні з оголошеними попередніми результатами виборів. А, як відомо, будь-яка легітимність виникає винятково із суспільної довіри», – заявив Зеленський.
Він закликав Білорусь «до максимальної толерантності, терпимості та відмови від вуличного насильства».
«Закликаємо до максимально відкритого, нехай і складного, діалогу. Тому що лише широкий діалог дасть змогу забезпечити громадянам Республіки Білорусь вихід з важкої кризової ситуації й чесно обговорити подальші кроки та формати громадської взаємодії. Тільки взаєморозуміння між усіма сторонами здатне зберегти незалежність країни та забезпечити її подальший рух до свободи та демократії. В іншому разі ескалація насильства наростатиме», – зазначив Зеленський.

Уночі в Мінську почалися сутички протестувальників з силовиками. Затримання відбувалися і в інших містах країни. Правозахисники кажуть про понад 140 затриманих, правоохоронці ще даних не подавали.

«Цієї осені на окупованій території Криму з 17 дітей політв’язнів до першого класу підуть лише 14, оскільки правами на освіту трьох дітей «керівництво» кримських освітніх закладів знехтувало», – додала Денісова.
Вона зазначила, що особливої уваги та піклування потребують 11 тяжкохворих дітей.
«Звертаюся до президента України Володимира Зеленського з проханням зробити все можливе задля звільнення українських політв’язнів та надати доручення Кабінету міністрів України забезпечити їхнім родинам належний соціальний захист. Прошу першу леді України Олену Зеленську взяти під особистий патронат кожну таку родину», – заявила Денісова.
Вона також закликала прем’єра Дениса Шмигаля та кожного члена уряду взяти під особисту опіку кожну дитину, яка на сьогодні проживає із матір’ю на контрольованій Україною території.

How it works: Vietnamese go to the Corona Check website and enter data on where they have been recently. The app then cross references that with data on the location, timing, and quantity of cases nationwide to calculate the odds someone has come into contact with the coronavirus. “Our AI system is continuously updating data to improve itself,” Tran Hoang Giang, the FPT Software vice president, said. “Currently it could predict the probability of coronavirus infection with 90% accuracy. But it’ll get even better as more people submit self-assessments on the web.” The process is helped in part by the fact that Vietnam, which has had 841 COVID-19 cases this year, publishes uniquely detailed, anonymized data on patients’ movements so that others can check if they went somewhere at the same time as an infected person. For instance, one record showed the times that a patient had gone to a mall, a cafe, and a market. India on Monday reported more than 1,000 new coronavirus deaths, the most the country has recorded in a single day since the pandemic began. In response to a rise in infections, authorities in Paris imposed a one-month order starting Monday requiring people to wear masks in popular outdoor areas such as along the banks of the River Seine. Paris joins other French cities with similar orders in place, including Toulouse, Lille and Bairritz. She said keeping students 1.5 meters apart while inside a school is sometimes impossible. Scheeres recommends that schools divide pupils into groups and keep them separate. If anyone were to test positive for the coronavirus, only that person and their cluster would need to be quarantined instead of everyone. The central government will require students and teachers to wear masks in the hallways but will not require them in classroom instruction or on playgrounds. Many other countries are also struggling to decide how and when to reopen schools. President Donald Trump has been pushing for all U.S. schools to reopen for in-person learning. But many states say they aren’t ready and plan to begin the school year at the end of this month the same way they ended the old one in June – using virtual classrooms. Last week a photograph of a crowded hallway in a Georgia school showed only a few students wearing masks. The school was closed and students were sent home for online classes after nine students tested positive for the coronavirus. U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned last week of a possible “generational catastrophe” in education because of shuttered schools. He urged countries to make reopening schools a top priority once the coronavirus crisis subsides. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said in an article in the Daily Mail newspaper that the country has a moral duty to reopen schools. He said restarting schools is a national priority and a social and economic necessity. Johnson asserted that British schools can operate safely and has previously said schools would be the last places to close if there is another COVID-19 shutdown. The British school year is set to start in early September.
