Президент США Дональд Трамп оголосив дату і місце підписання першої фази торговельної угоди між Сполученими Штатами Америки і Китаєм.
За його словами, церемонія підписання відбудеться 15 січня в Білому домі.
«Будуть присутні торговельні представники Китаю високого рівня», – додав він у твітері.
Трамп також заявив, що пізніше, без уточнення дати, він поїде до Пекіну, щоб почати переговори про другу фазу торговельної угоди.
Після того, як попередні торговельні переговори між США й Китаєм зірвалися, президент США 2018 року запровадив митні тарифи на китайські товари на суму в мільярди доларів; Китай відповів тарифами на американські товари. 2019 року США запровадили дальші тарифні обмеження, що викликало побоювання про можливість того, що розгортання торговельної війни може спричинити всесвітню економічну рецесію.
Але в жовтні адміністрація Трампа скасувала плановане було нове підвищення чинних тарифів, а у грудні запровадження нових тарифів завдяки поступові в переговорах про першу фазу нової торговельної угоди з Китаєм.
Дональд Трамп іще під час передвиборчої кампанії 2016 року зробив одним із її пріоритетів обіцянку змінити торговельні угоди США з іншими країнами. Наступного, 2020 року він буде змагатися за переобрання.

Колишній керівник альянсу Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi підприємець Карлос Гон, якого випустили під заставу до суду у справі про фінансові порушення, втік з Японії в Ліван. Про це першими повідомили місцеві ЗМІ, пізніше Гон сам підтвердив місце свого перебування.
Він заявив, що «втік від несправедливості і політичного переслідування» японської системи.
«Я більше не перебуваю в заручниках у корумпованої судової системи Японії, де поширена презумпція винуватості, дискримінація повсюдна, а основні права людини порушуються», – написав підприємець у своїй заяві.
В Японії Гона звинувачують у приховуванні доходів на загальну суму в 80 мільйонів доларів у звітах для Токійської фондової біржі і списанні особистих збитків на суму 16 мільйонів доларів на рахунок його компанії Nissan.
Підприємець повністю відкидає ці звинувачення і називає їх політично мотивованими. Він також заявляє, що судова справа проти нього є результатом змови японської влади і керівництва Nissan, яке, за його словами, виступало проти продовження інтеграції трьох компаній – Renault, Nissan і Mitsubishi.
Гона затримали в 2018 році. У березні 2019-го його випустили під заставу майже 9 мільйонів доларів і підписку про невиїзд. Суд обмежив доступ до мобільного зв’язку та інтернету. Поруч з будинком Гона встановили цілодобове відеоспостереження. Суд також постановив віддати закордонний паспорт адвокатам, а для подорожей за межі Токіо і комунікації зі своєю дружиною Керол підприємець мав отримувати спеціальний дозвіл суду.
Як саме бізнесмен міг покинути країну, поки точно не відомо. Згідно з повідомленням у ліванській газеті Aljoumhouria, до країни Гон прилетів на приватному літаку з Туреччини. Японська телекомпанія NHK стверджує, що він міг вилетіти з Японії під чужим ім’ям.
Гон за походженням ліванець, який народився в Бразилії. Він здобув вищу освіту в Парижі і починав свою діяльність в компанії з виробництва шин Michelin. Але відомий він став саме в автомобільній індустрії після того як наприкінці 90-х вивів з кризи один із підрозділів французького концерну Renault.
На початку 2000-х він почав керувати Nissan, а після того, як компанія стала найбільшим акціонером Mitsubishi, очолив раду директорів альянсу. За програми жорсткого скорочення витрат в очолюваних ним компаніях Гон отримав прізвисько «Вбивця витрат».

Канцлерка Німеччини Анґела Меркель привітала новий контракт про транзит російського газу територією України, укладений пізно ввечері 30 грудня.
«Я задоволена, що переговори про транзит російського газу через Україну, що тривали півтора року, дійшли нині до успішного завершення. Продовження транзиту газу через Україну після 1 січня 2020 року – добрий і важливий сигнал про гарантію безпеки постачання газу до Європи», – наводить її слова пресслужба німецького уряду.
Раніше підписання контракту привітали також у Європейській комісії.
30 грудня національна акціонерна компанія «Нафтогаз України» і російський газовий монополіст «Газпром» підписали контракт на транзит російського газу до Європи з використанням української газотранспортної системи на п’ятирічний термін із можливістю продовження. Термін нині чинного контракту збігає вранці 1 січня 2020 року.
Анґела Меркель, яка активно підтримує проєкт «Газпрому» «Північний потік-2», водночас весь час заявляла і про необхідність зберегти транзит російського газу через ГТС України. Тим часом будівництво російського газопроводу, що мав постачати газ до Європи в обхід України і вже збудований приблизно на 90 відсотків, зупинилося через санкції США, дата його можливого поновлення наразі не ясна.

Бразилець Рафаель Лусваргі, який брав участь у збройному конфлікті на Донбасі на боці підтримуваних Росією бойовиків і переданий в рамках обміну з угрупованнями «Л/ДНР», перебуває на території, непідконтрольній Україні. Інформацію це Радіо Свобода 31 грудня підтвердив колишній адвокат громадянина Бразилії Валентин Рибін.
Він також заперечив інформацію про те, Лусваргі мав вирушити літаком з аеропорту Києва на батьківщину, до Бразилії. Точне місце перебування громадянина Бразилії не повідомляється.
Валентин Рибін повідомив, що 29 грудня його колишній підзахисний разом з іншими особами, які брали участь в обміні, відбув на територію, підконтрольну угрупованню «ДНР».
Він не підтвердив, але й не заперечив інформацію про подальші плани щодо повернення Лусваргі в Бразилію.
2 травня 2019 року Павлоградський міський районний суд Дніпропетровської області засудив Лусваргі до 13 років позбавлення волі з конфіскацією майна за звинуваченням в участі у діяльності терористичних організацій і не передбачених законом збройних формувань.
2018 року тодішній голова СБУ Василь Грицак заявляв, що Лусваргі не міг був включений до списків обміну полоненими, оскільки має бразильське громадянство.
6 жовтня 2016 року співробітники столичної прокуратури та Головного управління СБУ у Києві та Київській області затримали Рафаеля Лусваргі в аеропорту «Бориспіль».
25 січня 2017 року Печерський районний суд міста Києва виніс вирок йому вирок – 13 років позбавлення волі з конфіскацією майна. 27 серпня 2017 року Апеляційний суд міста Києва скасував вирок Печерського суду і відправив на новий розгляд до суду першої інстанції.
Наприкінці квітня 2018 року журналісти Радіо Свобода знайшли Рафаеля Лусваргі в чоловічому Свято-Покровському Голосіївському монастирі УПЦ (Московського патріархату). 4 травня праворадикали передали Лусваргі Службі безпеки України.
7 травня 2018 року Павлоградський міськрайонний суд розпочав слухати справу Рафаеля Лусваргі, обвинуваченого в Україні в участі у незаконних збройних формуваннях і терористичній організації.

In his New Year’s message, U.N. Суд ухвалив рішення 30 грудня. Російська влада ідентифікує підозрюваних як 22-річного Микиту Семенова і 23-річного Георгія Чернишова.
ФСБ Росії на вихідних повідомила, що підозрюваних затримали 27 грудня на підставі інформації від «американських партнерів».
У Кремлі повідомили, що 29 грудня президент Росії Володимир Путін розмовляв по телефону із президентом США Дональдом Трампом і подякував йому за надану розвідкою інформацію.
У Білому домі повідомили, що під час розмови обидва президенти «підтвердили намір продовжувати співпрацю по боротьбі з тероризмом між двома країнами».
Петербурзьке видання «Фонтанка» із посиланням на джерело в ФСБ повідомляло, що ціллю планованих нападів мали стати торговельний центр і собор, популярний серед туристів.
Підозрювані нібито надіслали фотографії на підтвердження цілей екстремістському угрупованню «Ісламська держава».
На відео, опублікованому ФСБ з обшуків за місцем проживання затриманих, видно боєприпаси, ножі, електричні кабелі й чорний одяг.
Російське державне інформаційне агентство ТАСС повідомляло, що США раніше ділилися інформацією з російською владою про можливі теракти у жовтні цього року і в 2017-му.

Суд у Словаччині засудив Золтана Андруска до 15 років позбавлення волі за причетність до вбивства журналіста-розслідувача Яна Куціяка. Суд назвав його посередником у злочині. Вирок оголосили 30 грудня.
За версією звинувачення, Золтан Андруско отримав пропозицію знайти найманого вбивцю.
Андруско в ході процесу визнав провину, уклав угоду зі слідством і на подальших засіданнях буде давати свідчення як свідок.
Звинувачення висунули ще чотирьом підозрюваним, включаючи словацького бізнесмена Маріана Кочнера і його перекладачку. Їм загрожує довічне ув’язнення. Всі четверо провину заперечують.
Судовий процес у справі розпочався 19 грудня і триватиме в січні 2020 року.
Журналіст Ян Куціяк і його наречена Мартіна Кушнірова були знайдені вбитими в помешканні в селі Велька-Мача через кілька днів після вбивства – 25 лютого 2018 року. Як повідомляють словацькі ЗМІ, за виконання вбивства замовник заплатив близько 70 тисяч євро.
Ще у 2018 році словацька поліція затримала і оголосила про підозру в убивстві чотирьом іншим особам, між якими є і ймовірний виконавець злочину.

Вільям Тейлор, який залишає посаду тимчасового повіреного у справах США у Києві, повідомив, що його замінить заступниця голови місії США в Україні Крістіна Квін. У зверненні до українців, оприлюдненому 31 грудня у твітері посольства США в Україні, Тейлор каже, що оптимістично налаштований щодо України.
«Як ви знаєте, найближчим часом я залишу Київ. Коли я приїхав до Києва у червні, я знав, що моє перебування тут буде обмеженим у часі. І час мого перебування в Україні від червня був чудовим, надзвичайним. Згадаймо, які події відбулися відтоді: було обрано нову Верховну Раду, з’явилися нові можливості просувати реформи, було сформовано Вищий антикорупційний суд…, прогрес у поверненні миру на Донбас – телефонні дзвінки між президентами Зеленським і Путіним, обмін полоненими», – сказав Тейлор.
Попереду, за його словами, «будуть теж гарні часи».

Посол Тейлор став тимчасовим повіреним у справах США в Україні у червні цього року.
Посада посла США в Україні залишається вакантною від травня, коли Вашингтон відкликав Марі Йованович.
Вільям Тейлор працював в Україні і раніше, він був послом США з 2006 до 2009 року. Після цього дипломат був спеціальним координатором Державного департаменту з питань Близького Сходу, представником США в Близькосхідному квартеті тощо. Перед останнім призначенням Тейлор обіймав посаду виконавчого віцепрезидента Інституту миру США.

Україна буде отримувати за транзит газу протягом наступних п’яти років орієнтовно 2-3 мільярди доларів щорічно, прогнозує міністр енергетики і захисту довкілля Олексій Оржель.
Як повідомляє урядовий портал, він заявив про це після того, як 30 грудня урядова делегація на чолі з Оржелем завершила переговори і досягла домовленостей щодо транзиту газу до Європи.
«Однією з умов України під час переговорів було сплата 2,9 мільярда доларів від «Газпрому» за рішенням Стокгольмського арбітражу. Ці гроші ми вже отримали. Плюс, з урахуванням того, що українська газотранспортна інфраструктура залишається повністю задіяною, а нові маршрути доставки газу в Європу ще тривалий час можуть бути не реалізовані, ми будемо отримувати за транзит протягом наступних п’яти років орієнтовно 2-3 мільярди доларів щорічно», – сказав Олексій Оржель.
Водночас прем’єр-міністр України Олексій Гончарук заявив, що завдяки підписанню контракту Україна збереже стабільність на вітчизняному та європейському ринку газу. «Це позитивно вплине на енергетичні ринки і стане значним фактором зниження ціни газу на ринку», – сказав прем’єр.
У результаті тристоронніх переговорів Україна-Росія-Європейський Союз сторони 30 грудня підписали новий контракт на транзит газу на п’ять років. Як повідомляє уряд України, угода передбачає можливість пролонгації контракту через п’ять років ще на 10 років на аналогічних умовах.
Мінімальні гарантовані обсяги прокачки будуть 65 мільярдів кубометрів газу на перший рік і 40 мільярдів – на наступні чотири роки. При цьому фактичні обсяги можуть бути вищими, додали у Кабміні.

Chancellor Angela Merkel is telling Germans in her New Year message that “everything humanly possible” must be done to tackle climate change.Merkel said that there is good reason to be confident about the 2020s in her annual televised message, the text of which was released ahead of its broadcast Tuesday. But she pointed to challenges such as the effect of digitization on people’s jobs and, above all, climate change.”The warming of our Earth is real. It is threatening. It and the crises arising from global warming were caused by humans,” she said. “So we must do everything humanly possible to deal with this challenge for humanity. That is still possible.”Merkel said that was the principle behind a recently agreed German package of measures aimed at addressing climate change, which include a carbon dioxide pricing system for the transport and heating sectors and lowering value-added tax on long-distance rail tickets.She acknowledged criticism both from people who are worried about being overburdened by the measures and from those who think they don’t go far enough, but said they provide the “necessary framework.””It’s true that, at 65, I am at an age where I personally won’t experience all the consequences of climate change that would arise if politicians didn’t act,” she said.”It is our children and grandchildren who will have to live with the consequences of what we do or don’t do today,” Merkel added. “So I am putting all my energy into Germany making its contribution — ecologically, economically, socially — to getting a grip on climate change.”That is also a priority of the European Union’s new executive Commission, headed by Ursula von der Leyen — a former German defense minister. Моніторингова місія ООН з прав людини в Україні заявляє, що поділяє занепокоєння жертв і родичів загиблих на Майдані через видачу в рамках обміну угрупованням «ЛДНР» колишніх беркутівців, підозрюваних у розстрілі людей на Майдані в 2014 році.
«Передача п’яти співробітників спецпідрозділу «Беркут», яких звинувачують у вбивстві 48 і пораненні 80 протестувальників 20 лютого 2014 року, на територію, контрольовану самопроголошеними «республіками», суттєво ускладнить здійснення правосуддя і дотримання права жертв на справедливість. Раніше, у цій же справі, зусилля Генеральної прокуратури заочно притягнути до відповідальності інших співробітників «Беркута», які втекли з країни, виявилися безрезультатними», – йдеться в заяві місії.
При цьому моніторингова місія ООН привітала одночасне звільнення утримуваних під вартою осіб, що відбулося 29 грудня на КПВВ «Майорське» у Донецькій області.
Місія також нагадала, що під час паризького саміту «нормандської четвірки» було досягнуто розуміння про надання міжнародним організаціям «повного та безумовного доступу до всіх затриманих», і висловила сподівання, що такий доступ на території, підконтрольні угрупованням «ДНР» і «ЛНР», буде наданий найближчим часом.
Всього в рамках обміну, що відбувся 29 грудня, підтримувані Росією угруповання «ДНР» і «ЛНР» видали Україні 76 людей: 12 військових і 64 цивільних.
Серед тих, хто був у списку на видачу з України (всього 124 особи), – п’ятеро колишніх беркутівців, обвинувачених у розстрілі людей на Майдані в 2014 році, а також обвинувачені в теракті в Харкові 2015 року, яких засудили до довічного ув’язнення.

Brazil’s Ministry of Justice said on Monday it has fined U.S. tech giant Facebook Inc 6.6 million reais ($1.6 million) for improperly sharing user data.The ministry’s department of consumer protection said it had found that data from 443,000 Facebook users was made improperly available to developers of an app called ‘thisisyourdigitallife.’ The data was being shared for “questionable” purposes, the ministry said in a statement.Facebook did not immediately respond to a request for comment.The ministry said the world’s largest social network failed to provide users with adequate information regarding default privacy settings, particularly related to data of “friends” and “friends of friends.”The ministry said it launched the investigation following media reports of the misuse of data by political consultancy firm Cambridge Analytica in 2018.Facebook has 10 days to appeal the decision. The fine should be paid within 30 days.

Суд у Хорватії засудив колишнього прем’єр-міністра Іво Санадера до шести років в’язниці за отримання багатомільйонного доларового хабаря в період перебування на посаді керівника уряду.
Загребський суд 30 грудня визнав Санадера винним в отриманні хабаря в розмірі 10 мільйонів євро в обмін на надання угорській нафтовій компанії МOL найбільшої частки в хорватській енергетичній компанії INA. Угода була укладена понад 10 років тому.
За вироком того ж суду в Загребі виконавчий директор угорської компанії MOL Золт Ернаді отримав два роки в’язниці – за давання хабаря Санадеру.
Жоден із підсудних не перебував у залі суду під час винесення вироку. Голова суду Іван Турудіч оголосив, що європейський ордер на арешт Ернаді вже підписаний, і звернувся до угорської сторони з проханням «діяти відповідним чином».
Вироки можуть бути оскаржені.
66-річний Санадер очолював уряд в 2003–2009 роках. Якщо вирок набере чинності, Санадеру доведеться виплатити державі 10 мільйонів євро.
Колишній голова уряду втік з Хорватії в 2010 році після висунутих йому звинувачень у двох справах про корупцію. Санадер був затриманий в Австрії і роком пізніше екстрадований до Хорватії. Однак у 2015 році Конституційний суд скасував вирок у справі про корупцію.
У 2018 році Санадер був засуджений до двох з половиною років за спекуляцію і мав виплатити 570 тисяч доларів державі – саме такий хабар він отримав від Hypo Bank. Зараз Санадер відбуває термін у цій справі.

The U.S. Central Intelligence Agency has devised technology to restrict the use of anti-aircraft missiles after they leave American hands, a researcher said, a move that experts say could persuade the United States that it would be safe to disseminate powerful weapons more frequently.The new technology is intended for use with shoulder-fired missiles called Man-Portable Air-Defense Systems (MANPADS), Dutch researcher Jos Wetzels told a cybersecurity conference in Leipzig, Germany on Saturday. Wetzels said the system was laid out in a batch of CIA documents published by WikiLeaks in 2017 but that the files were mislabeled and attracted little public attention until now.Wetzels said the CIA had come up with a “smart arms control solution” that would restrict the use of missiles “to a particular time and a particular place.” The technique, referred to as “geofencing,” blocks the use of a device outside a specific geographic area.Weapons that are disabled when they leave the battlefield could be an attractive feature. Supplied to U.S. allies, the highly portable missiles can help win wars, but they have often been lost, sold, or passed to extremists.For example, Stinger MANPADS supplied by the United States are credited with helping mujahedeen rebels drive Soviet forces out of Afghanistan in a conflict that spanned the 1980s and 1990s. But U.S. officials have since spent billions of dollars to clear the missiles from the country — and from other conflict zones around the worldWetzels said it was unclear whether the CIA’s design ever left the drawing board or where it was meant to have been deployed, but he noted that the apparent period of development in the documents’ metadata — 2014 to 2015 — roughly coincided with media reports about the deployment of MANPADS to rebels in Syria. Geofencing might have been seen as a way of ensuring the missiles were used on the Syrian battlefield and nowhere else, he said.The CIA declined to comment.Outside experts who reviewed Wetzels’ analysis said they found it plausible.N.R.
