Україна готова відмовитися від Мінських угод, якщо деякі європейські держави доб’ються зняття санкцій з росії в Раді Європи
Україна готова відмовитися від дотримання Мінських домовленостей, якщо деякі європейські держави доб’ються зняття санкцій тиску з Російської Федерації в Раді Європи. Про це заявив міністр закордонних справ Павло Клімкін.
«Мене вчора багато хто запитував, як буде Рада Європи (діяти щодо санкцій проти росії, – ред.). Я їм чесно сказав: якщо ви вчините так, як хочуть кілька країн, я того ж дня вийду і скажу, що, по-перше, «Мінська» у нас тепер немає, і, по-друге, його вбили не тільки в Москві, але і ви – послідовно», – заявив голова МЗС журналістам у Брюсселі.
За словами Клімкіна, його позицію почули партнери з Франції, Німеччини, Нідерландів та інших країн.
Нагадаємо, в 2017 році Москва призупинила виплату внеску в бюджет Ради Європи. Згідно зі статутом Ради Європи, якщо до червня цього року російська сторона не відновить виконання своїх фінансових зобов’язань, держава може бути позбавлена репрезентаційних прав в організації. Раніше МЗС України застерегло Раду Європи від поступок Росії і заявило, що організація опинилася в кризі через шантаж РФ.
12 лютого 2015 року учасники програми Тристоронньої контактної групи за підсумками переговорів у Мінську підписали «Комплекс заходів з виконання Мінських домовленостей». Ці домовленості, зокрема, передбачали негайне і всеосяжне припинення вогню в окремих районах Донецької та Луганської областей, а також відведення важкого озброєння обома сторонами на рівні відстані. Передбачалося також відновлення Україною повного контролю над держкордоном; виведення з Донбасу російських найманців і незаконних збройних формувань і техніки. Клімкін наголосив, що на зустрічах у неділю ввечері та у понеділок уже повідомив про це колег-міністрів з європейських держав.
Водночас Клімкін наголосив, що попри відсутність прямого зв’язку між «Мінськом» та санкційним тиском на РФ у Раді Європи, Україна має підстави для такого кроку. «Якщо зараз, після того як росія почала видавати паспорти (мешканцям окупованої території Донбасу), ви підете на кроки назустріч росії – тоді тотально руйнується взагалі вся логіка того, що ми досі робили», – пояснив він.
Головним лобістом зняття санкційного тиску є Німеччина, яку підтримують французи та низка інших держав. Клімкін підтвердив, що сконцентрувався на переговорах із ними. «Німці це почули, і французи це почули, і голландці. Чи погодилися? Спитайте у них. Але з німецьким міністром ми окремо дуже довго це обговорювали сьогодні», – повідомив Клімкін.

Окружний адміністративний суд Києва славиться своїми скандальними рішеннями. Саме у цьому суді, свого часу, судді визнавали Майдан перешкодою і схвалювали схему із “рюкзаками Авакова”. А також: заборонили поводити конкурс на посаду голови Державної митної служби, скасували ліквідацію банку “Хрещатик”, визнали законність формули “Роттердам+”, відсторонили від роботи Уляну Супрун, повернули “вертодром Януковича” фірмі нардепа БПП, відмовили журналістці у наданні копії рішення про доступ до даних з її телефону, поновили скандального Насірова на посаді голови фіскальної служби, скасували заборону на в’їзд в Україну Федору Добронравову, скасували заборону на в’їзд в Україну роспропагандону Шувалову. Напередодні той-таки Окружний адмінсуд Києва також призупинив обов’язкове перейменування Української православної церкви (Московського патріархату), яка мала внести у свою назву згадку про зв’язок з Росією.
Позов Ігоря Коломойського до Національного банку і Кабінету Міністрів щодо незаконності націоналізації “Приватбанку”, до слова, також прийняли троє суддів – Ігор Качур, Володимир Келеберда, Віталій Амельохін, які є недоброчесними. За даними активістів із руху “Чесно”, всі троє приховували значну частину своїх статків, не зазначаючи їх у деклараціях. І у прийнятті різних скандальних рішень ці судді також відзначались.
Отже, публікуємо повний перелік неповажних громадян, які, як путани, обслуговують своїх господарів за гроші, а іноді лише через страх:

У Росії хочуть утилізувати військову техніку України в анексованому Криму після 2024 року
Російська влада має намір утилізувати українську військову техніку, яка залишилася в Криму після анексії півострова 2014 року, якщо Київ не забере її до 2024 року. Про це заявив голова комітету з оборони Державної думи Росії, колишній командувач Повітряно-десантних військ Росії Володимир Шаманов.
«Це перш за все задача керівництва України. Виходячи з міжнародних норм, протягом 10 років вони повинні або забрати, або за 10 років ми змушені будемо це утилізувати, тому що те, що не є в експлуатації, старішає і стає непридатним. Сучасних зразків ми не спостерігали, а ті, що є, Збройним силам Росіїйської Федерації нецікаві», – цитує Шаманова державне інформаційне агентство Росії ТАСС.

Президент Росії Володимир Путін 11 січня заявив, що Росія готова повернути Україні її військову техніку з анексованого Криму.
У лютому того ж року міністр закордонних справ України Павло Клімкін повідомив, що Україна не погодиться на пропозиції Кремля щодо передачі української військової техніки та озброєння з анексованого Криму, оскільки для Києва це може мати негативні наслідки як з юридичної, так і з політичної позиції.
Міжнародні організації визнали окупацію й анексію Криму незаконними й засудили дії Росії. Країни Заходу запровадили низку економічних санкцій. Росія заперечує окупацію півострова і називає це «відновленням історичної справедливості». Верховна Рада України офіційно оголосила датою початку тимчасової окупації Криму й Севастополя Росією 20 лютого 2014 року.

Supreme Court Allows Lawsuit Over iPhone Apps
The Supreme Court is allowing consumers to pursue an antitrust lawsuit that claims Apple has unfairly monopolized the market for the sale of iPhone apps.
New Justice Brett Kavanaugh is joining the court’s four liberals Monday in rejecting a plea from Cupertino, California-based Apple to end the lawsuit over the 30 percent commission the company charges software developers whose apps are sold through the App Store.
The lawsuit was filed by iPhone users who must purchase software for their smartphones exclusively through Apple’s App Store.
Four conservative justices dissented.

China Imposes Tariffs on $60 Billion in US Exports
China said Monday it would impose tariffs on $60 billion worth of imports from the United States, retaliating after President Donald Trump boosted taxes on $200 billion worth of Chinese goods sent to the U.S. and moved to impose duties on another $300 billion of Chinese exports.
The Chinese finance ministry said its new 5% to 25% tax would be imposed June 1 and affect 5,140 U.S. products exported to China. Beijing said its response was targeting “U.S. unilateralism and trade protectionism.”
“China will never succumb to foreign pressure,” the foreign ministry said. “We are determined and capable of safeguarding our legitimate rights and interests. We still hope that the U.S. will meet us half way.”
The new Chinese taxes came hours after Trump, on Twitter, urged China not to strike back, claiming that “China has taken so advantage of the U.S. for so many years, that they are way ahead (Our Presidents did not do the job). Therefore, China should not retaliate-will only get worse!”
The escalation of the tit-for-tat tariff increases had an immediate effect on the U.S. stock market, with the key Dow Jones Industrial Average plunging more than 2% in mid-day trading in New York.
The Chinese announcement came after the world’s two biggest economies ended their latest trade talks Friday in Washington without reaching a deal.
‘Both sides will suffer’
Chief White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow told Fox News Sunday that “both sides will suffer” from the escalating trade war.
Trump claimed in another tweet, that “Their (sic) is no reason for the U.S. Consumer to pay the Tariffs, which take effect on China today.” But Kudlow acknowledged, “In fact, both sides will pay. Both sides will pay in these things.”
The U.S. leader has claimed that the Chinese government unfairly subsidizes Chinese companies and steals intellectual property from U.S. firms to manufacture its own products.
Kudlow said that in the U.S. “maybe the toughest burdens” are on farmers who sell soybeans, corn and wheat to China. But he said the Trump administration has “helped them before on lost exports” with $12 billion in past subsidies and that “we’ll do it again if we have to and if the numbers show that out.” Trump has said he will ask Congress to approve another $15 billion in farm subsidies to offset lost sales to China.
‘Right where we want to be’
Trump said on Twitter Sunday “We are right where we want to be with China.”
Trump on Friday more than doubled tariffs on $200 billion of Chinese goods, boosting the rate from 10% to 25%, while also moving to impose tariffs on an additional $300 billion of Chinese products, although Kudlow said it could take months for the full effect of the tariffs to be felt. China had previously imposed taxes on $110 billion of American products before Monday’s tariff increase.
Despite the break-off in trade talks Friday, Kudlow said, “We were moving well, constructive talks and I still think that’s the case. We’re going to continue the talks as the president suggested.”
Kudlow said Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping are likely to discuss trade issues at the G-20 summit in Japan at the end of June.
The economic adviser renewed U.S. claims that China had backtracked from earlier agreements reached in the talks, forcing negotiators to cover “the same ground this past week.”
“You can’t forget this: This is a huge deal, the broadest scope and scale ….two countries have ever had before,” Kudlow said. “But we have to get through a lot of issues. For many years, China trade was unfair, non-reciprocal, unbalanced in many cases, unlawful.”
The U.S. has claimed that China steals technology and forces U.S. companies to divulge trade secrets it uses in its own production of advanced technology products.
On Saturday, Trump suggested that China could be waiting to see if he wins reelection next year, but said Beijing would be “much worse” off during a second term of his in the White House.

Honda Confirms Closure of UK Car Plant
Honda has confirmed its western England car factory, which employs 3,500 people, will close in 2021.
The Japanese carmaker announced Monday that the Swindon plant will shut in two years, “at the end of the current model’s production life cycle.”
Honda makes its popular Civic model at the factory, 70 miles (115 kms) west of London.
Reports of the closure first emerged in February, heightening concerns about the impact of Brexit-related uncertainty on the U.K. economy.
Honda said the closure is not Brexit-driven but “is part of Honda’s broader global strategy in response to changes to the automotive industry.”
It said it had spoken to the British government and union consultants, but “no viable alternatives to the proposed closure of the Swindon plant have been identified.”

Top Republicans are hunting district-by-district for just the right candidates — women and minorities in many cases — to help them recapture the House six months after a political tidal wave swept Democrats into control of the most diverse majority in history.
Among the recruits are a Republican woman in the Oklahoma state Senate and a black political novice from Houston with Iraq combat experience and three Ivy League degrees on his resume. They are part of the GOP drive to gain at least 18 seats in the 2020 elections to win the majority — historically a tall order for the party out of power in presidential election years.
Finding women and minority candidates is an imperative for an overwhelmingly white GOP openly embarrassed that just 13 of its 197 House members are women. By contrast, 89 of the 235 House Democrats are women and nearly 90 are black or Hispanic.
But Republicans want challengers with other qualities too, following a 2018 election that saw the GOP lose 31 districts that President Donald Trump had won just two years earlier, many in moderate suburbs.
Desirable attributes include an ability to woo moderate GOP voters who’ve turned against Trump, whose name will be atop the ballot. In some districts they want political outsiders without voting records to attack, in others it’s political veterans with a proven ability to win votes. Enticing personal stories and an aptitude for raising money also help.
“You will see a party that’s reflective of the entire nation. That would mean from gender to race to others, but it will also show that we can compete in every single district,” said House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif.
GOP leaders like potential challengers including Young Kim, who wants a rematch against the freshman Democrat who badly outspent her but only narrowly defeated her last year in increasingly diverse Orange County, California; Karen Handel, elected to the House in an expensive 2017 special election, only to lose re-election last November by 3,000 votes; and Tom Kean Jr., who’s seeking a House seat in western New Jersey and hopes the popularity of his father, moderate former Gov. Tom Kean, will outweigh the state’s antipathy to Trump.
McCarthy says he’s met with over 30 contenders, of whom nearly 6 in 10 are women and nearly half are minorities. Rep. Susan Brooks, R-Ind., recruitment chief for the National Republican Congressional Committee, the House GOP’s campaign arm, says more than 130 women have contacted the committee about running. One group called Winning for Women and another, E-PAC, formed by Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., are also seeking female GOP candidates.
So far, Republicans haven’t matched Democrats’ ability to attract women candidates. According to data collected by The Associated Press through noon last Monday, just 38 of 172 declared Republican House challengers were women, around 1 in 5. That compared to 84 of 222 declared House Democratic challengers, nearly 2 in 5.
Democrats scoff that GOP efforts will flop because Americans care less about candidates’ attributes than about issues like buttressing health care and wages.
“You can have all the interesting stories in the world, you can have an interesting background,” said Rep. A. Donald McEachin, D-Va., a candidate recruiter for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, House Democrats’ political organ. He said if Republicans ignore people’s problems “and as long as you’ve got Donald Trump wrapped around your neck, we don’t have a whole lot to worry about.”
Democrats are already compiling GOP recruits’ weaknesses, including past statements, underwhelming fundraising starts and districts’ changing demographics. And there are no guarantees that Republican recruits will survive GOP primaries and be nominated.
Still, leaders are finding contenders like Wesley Hunt, a black West Point graduate and former Army Apache helicopter pilot who fought in Iraq and has three Cornell University master’s degrees. He would oppose freshman Rep. Lizzie Fletcher in Houston’s suburbs.
“As an African-American conservative man who grew up in a conservative suburban home, my values just align very well with the suburbs of Houston,” said Hunt, 37. He traveled to Washington last week so McCarthy could introduce him to potential donors in his first run for public office.
“You’re a West Point graduate, you served your nation. That’s going to give somebody an advantage over somebody that’s been in the legislature,” McCarthy said.
In other areas, Republicans hope women like Oklahoma GOP state Sen. Stephanie Bice would oust female Democrats like freshman Rep. Kendra Horn. Horn squeaked past a male GOP incumbent last November in a district around Oklahoma City that Trump carried in 2016 by 40,000 votes.
Bice, 45, said she’s spoken to McCarthy and other Republican leaders and was traveling to Washington last week for further meetings. “I get the impression that they’re really interested,” she said.
In one district encompassing Staten Island and part of Brooklyn, GOP leaders are touting Nicole Malliotakis, a state assemblywoman and New York City’s only elected Republican. She’s half Cuban and half Greek, lost a 2017 mayoral race but did well in that district and has reported raising $300,000 — a decent start in a race that could cost nearly 20 times that amount.
Republican leaders expect Sara Hart Weir, 37, to seek a House district that includes Kansas City, Kansas. Weir until recently was president of the National Down Syndrome Society, which gives her fundraising experience and familiarity with health issues. She says she’s met McCarthy and nearly every GOP congresswoman and would challenge freshman Democratic Rep. Sharice Davids, one of Congress’ first Native American women.
“I don’t see why they wouldn’t want somebody with my background, my results and my leadership to raise their hand and step forward,” Weir said.

Sweden Reopening Assange Rape Case
Swedish prosecutors are reopening a rape case against WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.
Speaking to reporters Monday in Stockholm, Eva-Marie Persson, deputy director of public prosecutions, said that “there is still a probable cause to suspect that Assange committed a rape,” adding that in her assessment “a new questioning of Assange is required.”
Persson said that the circumstances now allow for the extradition of Assange from Britain. However, she said, it is for Britain to decide whether to extradite him to Sweden or to the United States where he is wanted for allegedly hacking into a Pentagon computer.
Reacting to the Sweden’s decision, WikiLeaks’ editor-in-chief Kristinn Hrafnsson said in a statement that the reopening of the case will give Assange a chance to clear his name.
“Since Julian Assange was arrested on 11 April 2019, there has been considerable political pressure on Sweden to reopen their investigation, but there has always been political pressure surrounding this case,” Hrafnsson said.
Swedish prosecutors filed preliminary charges against Assange in 2010. The investigation into alleged sexual misconduct was dropped seven years later after Assange fled into the Ecuadorian embassy and the statute of limitations then expired.
The statute of limitations on the reopened rape case expires in August 2020, in which case the investigation would be suspended if no conclusion were reached.

У Вірменії почався суд над екс-президентом Кочаряном
У Вірменії 13 травня почався суд у справі колишнього президента Вірменії Роберта Кочаряна, звинуваченого у справі про повалення конституційного ладу під час останніх тижнів його десятирічного правління, що завершилося у квітні 2008 року.
Кореспондент Радіо Свобода повідомляє, що на сьогоднішньому засіданні мають вирішити, чи перебуватиме Кочарян на час суду під вартою, чи буде переведений під домашній арешт.
Звинувачень у справі наразі не розглядали.
Роберта Кочаряна, який був президентом Вірменії з 1998 по 2008 рік, 26 липня 2018 року звинуватили в поваленні конституційного ладу. Звинувачення висунули в рамках кримінальної справи про події 1 березня 2008 року.
Тоді після президентських виборів, на яких перемогу здобув Серж Сарґсян, відбулися акції протесту. Під час сутичок між силовиками й активістами загинули десять людей, сотні були поранені. Обставини того, як це сталося і хто віддав наказ застосувати силу проти учасників протесту, досі залишаються нез’ясованими. Президентом Вірменії на той момент був Роберт Кочарян.
Голова Спеціальної слідчої служби Сасун Хачатрян 11 вересня 2018 року заявив, що в учасників протесту стріляла армія.
«Справа 1 березня» довгий час не розслідувалася, але була відновлена після масових протестів 2018 року і приходу до влади у Вірменії Нікола Пашиняна.

Прокуратура Швеції повідомляє, що вирішила знову відкрити попереднє кримінальне розслідування проти засновника WikiLeaks Джуліана Ассанжа за звинуваченням у зґвалтуванні.
Заступник директора прокуратури Швеції Ева-Марі Перссон заявила про зміну обставин після того, як Ассанжа минулого тижня затримали в посольстві Еквадору в Лондоні, що дає можливість Великій Британії екстрадувати Ассанжа до Швеції на допит.
За її словами, про екстрадицію Ассанжа проситимуть після того, як він закінчить відбувати термін покарання в Британії в 2020 році. Як заявила Перссон, який із запитів про екстрадицію Ассанжа є пріоритетнішим: шведський чи американський, вирішуватиме британська влада.
США просять видати засновника WikiLeaks через звинувачення в розголошенні секретної інформації щодо воєн в Афганістані й Іраку. Британія, зокрема, має вирішити, чи слід видавати Ассанжа Сполученим Штатам у відповідь на звинувачення в тому, що він вступив у змову з екс-аналітиком розвідки США Челсі Меннінг в 2010 році, щоб отримати секретну інформацію. В разі доведення провини Ассанжу загрожує до п’яти років ув’язнення.
Шведське розслідування щодо Ассанжа припинили у 2017 році. Запит на його відновлення минулого місяця подав адвокат жінки, яка звинувачує Ассанжа у зґвалтуванні у Швеції у 2010 році.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has arrived at the European Union headquarters in Brussels, the first stop on his European trip.
State Department spokeswoman Morgan Ortagus said Monday that Pompeo will meet with European allies in Belgium “to discuss recent threatening actions and statements by the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
Ortagus added that the Secretary “will continue to coordinate closely with our allies and partners and ensure the security of our mutual interests in the Middle East and around the world.”
Originally Pompeo had planned to meet Monday with U.S. diplomats and business leaders in Moscow.
There was a late Sunday change of plans, instead, for the secretary to stop in Belgium first.
The schedule for the rest of schedule for the U.S. top diplomat’s trip plans remain intact.
Pompeo travels to Sochi Tuesday for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
Pompeo’s trip comes a few weeks ahead of a G-20 summit meeting in Osaka, Japan, which both U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Putin will attend.
Pompeo’s trip to Russia also comes as tensions simmer between the two countries over Iran.
The U.S. is strengthening its military presence in the Middle East in what officials said was a “direct response to a number of troubling and escalatory indicators and warnings” from Iran.
The USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier strike group and four B-52 bombers have arrived in the Middle East in response to concerns Iran may be planning an attack against American targets.
On Wednesday, Lavrov asked Pompeo to use diplomacy instead of threats to solve issues after Lavrov’s talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarifin Moscow.

North Carolina to Hold Special Election Tuesday
Voters in North Carolina’s 9th district will head to the polls Tuesday for a special election primary that will decide which Republican will face off against Democrat Dan McCready for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.
McCready lost to Republican Mark Harris by just 905 votes in the general election held in September 2018. But the results were never certified because of allegations of absentee ballot fraud.
North Carolina’s elections board ordered new elections after allegations surfaced that Harris political operative Leslie McCrae Dowless may have tampered with mail-in absentee ballots.
According to testimony presented to the board, Dowless conducted an illegal “ballot harvesting” operation while working for Harris. Dowless and his assistants helped voters obtain absentee ballots and then gathered up the filled-in ballots from them by offering to put them in the mail.
Dowless’ workers in rural Bladen County testified that they were directed to collect blank or incomplete ballots from voters, forge signatures on them and even fill in votes for local candidates. It is generally against the law in North Carolina for anyone other than the voter or a family member to handle someone’s completed ballot.
Harris has refused to run in the special election.
There are 10 Republicans running in the primary. If none of them gets 30% of the vote or more, a runoff primary will be held on September 10 and the general election will be moved to November 5.
However, if a clear winner does emerge, the candidate will take on McCready in a general election on September 10.
